Introduction to Agriculture--Farm & Food Bytes®
(Suggested for 3rd-5th grades)

Students will become aware of agriculture present and past. They will learn the important role that farmers play in providing food and shelter for their families and consumers nationwide.

Students will discuss what farming may have been like for the early settlers in America and investigate clothing, food, games, traditions, and shared work and social events.

Features the popular "Pioneer Days" and "Modern Farming" computer games which allow the students to make decisions about clearing the land, livestock production, purchasing tools, feed and livestock. Of course, they have to provide for their families as well as weather out any natural disasters that may arise. Will the family survive?
