Each year Merial and the Dairy Quality Center raise the public’s awareness of the importance of bovine practitioners by honoring one as the Quality Veterinarian of the Year.
This has been an annual event since 1999. Herd veterinarians are the backbone of the prescription pharmaceutical system. In addition, the community and indeed the country, depends upon the veterinarian’s integrity to manage brucellosis, tuberculosis, foot and mouth disease, and other animal and human health programs. Recently our terrorism preparedness plans have been built around the educational and licensing system that supports the herd veterinarian.
